Teachers/Staff: Candor Central School District employs 89 teachers and 81
non-instructional personnel. Our staff is a diverse mixture ranging from experienced, dedicated veterans to enthusiastic new employees. In 2004, the district will initiate an expansive mentoring program for all non-tenured teaching staff. In recent years, staff turnover has decreased to a minimum, as faculty find Candor an enjoyable setting to practice their profession.

Program:
High School: Traditional regents based curriculum with strong emphasis on college prep, workforce development programs, and a wide array of elective offerings. Candor High School offers several unique programs (Cisco Network Technician, Health Services, Food Services, Manufacturing, Architecture, Computer Drafting and Design), including its own work-experience based Alternative School.

Candor High School offers increasing opportunities in extra-curricular activities through clubs, athletics, and after school programs. CHS won the 2003-2004 Award for Most Outstanding Overall Sports Program in Tioga County. CHS is the two-time defending State Volleyball Champs and the only three-time winner of the State Envirothon Championship.
Elementary: Candor Elementary School is a traditional small school with a positive and supportive climate. Academically, the building focus continues to be Reading, Writing, and Mathematics, as performance in all academic areas continues to be above average on State and local assessments. Candor Elementary School enjoys small class sizes of less than 20 pupils per classroom and a full range of academic support (psychologist, home school coordinator, special education services, reading, speech, math lab, occupational therapy...). The elementary also enjoys outstanding programs in library services, art, music, physical education, and technology.
Other: Candor Central School District offers one of the most current bus fleets in the state (buses average less than 3 years old). CCS also provides state of the art technology facilities for student and staff use. Finally, Candor enjoys exceptional support from the entire community, generating a positive environment that is both noticeable and appreciated.
